Today is my birthday. I am forty-five. Big deal, right?
Not really.
Forty was hard. In fact, I wrote a very long novel (220K words) about a woman who had something of a midlife crisis when she marked four decades on the planet.
Fifty might be tough. Who knows.
Last night, right before I went to bed, I got an email from elephant journal letting me know my submission had “gone live.” (This is the online journal I mentioned last week — alongside a description of Vomitfest 2016 — with the seven-digit “friend” count at its Facebook page.)
So on the occasion of my wholly uneventful birthday, I invite you to click through to my article. Moreover, I invite you to check out elephant journal. It is — by far — the most positive and upbeat online journal I’ve stumbled across. As such, I think it’s pretty cool they allowed me to share my thoughts.
I slept late and am late for yoga.

Happy birthday late girl! That’s the first day you came in after me… I can’t really bring myself to drink lemon water every morning when there are perfectly respectable coffee beans in the house, but then, I’m clearly a bit self indulgent. You rock- I’m older than you by just a bit and I can say that.
