That’s what I’d give away.
In a year.
To poor people in Littleton.
You see, the other cannabis retail shop in town sold close to $5m of cannabis over four recent, consecutive quarters. With the current, average “take-home pay” for 100% owner/operators sitting around 15-21% of gross sales, that amounts to $750,000.00 to $1,050,000.00. A year.
In one person’s pocket.
If that were my “pocket money,” I’d give every last dime to those experiencing poverty in Littleton—my hometown, where you and I both live.
Right? You get what I’m trying to do here, don’t you, Matthew?
I’m trying to give away $10,000.00 checks twice a week—week after week after week to the poor here in town. The profits come in, and they go right back out. Open books. Total transparency.
Do I want to own and operate a cannabis retail shop?
No, not really.
But I would own and operate a cannabis retail shop if I knew that it might abolish poverty in town while paying staff twice minimum wage and maybe serving as an example to other select boards with a license to award who might want to change people’s lives because they, too, have poverty in their hometowns.
6.3%, Matthew. They are our neighbors. Same zip code.
I want to help them—$10,000.00 at a time.
Life-changing? Let’s hope so.
TTYS,
Jkb
