My life as a writer began in April 2014 in the wake of a choice I didn’t want to make and which I’m not so sure was much of a choice anyhow.
Since that day, I have made the near-daily, authentic decision to use words to explore relations and conflicts and internal demons.
Looking back carefully at my seven completed novels, there is a clear theme: loyalty.
Whether to the greater good, to one’s word, to friendship, to professional ethics, to family, to the less fortunate, or to one’s heritage, all seven stories have loyalty woven throughout. And all seven struggle with its inevitable betrayal.
I’m going there now to read a bit before putting 2K words down for the day.

Two and a half years! Still only have about 1200 followers though. Sometimes as few as 20 views a day. You?

Since late October. I think I have 10 WordPress “followers.” Today’s stats: 68 views; 52 visitors. That’s about average.

And how do you get followers?

I browse around, find blogs I like, give a comment or a follow, invite to visit me.

The issue I have is that time spent trying to acquire followers is time not writing. So my M.O. is to use the WordPress app when I’m out walking dogs, and do a keyword search for whatever I’m in the mood to read about. That puts me in touch with new blogs and bloggers. Still, I’m not great about follow-through, commenting, etc. Some people build up 1,000 followers in a few months and I have no idea how! Maybe they can hack WordPress so it displays a higher number? Or they’re amazing?

I like the idea of keyword searching. Is that how you came afraid across me?
