Good morning, Steve and Gary,

Is the 12/5 “non-televised meeting” still an open meeting?

If not, under what authority are the two bodies permitted to meet?

Asking for a friend,

Where in the discussion was it mentioned it wouldn’t be an open meeting?   I am exercising my authority as SB Chair to not televise the meeting.

Hey Gary,

In the short time I was on the Board of Selectmen (as it was then called), I don’t think I ever took part in an un-televised, open meeting.

And, for what it’s worth, I’m brand new to FinComm and still trying to get my bearings after a bit of rough start.

You know, it’s tough sometimes to know what rules are in play, which I why I was asking and because our last posted joint SB and FinComm meeting was also not televised—the one that preceded STM on November 1st.

So, maybe you can see why I might be asking what you seem to regard as an absurd question. But here’s the thing, Gary, I just really want to get it right.

As for the upcoming joint meeting, a week from tonight, I find it odd (and not good from a PR standpoint) that a joint meeting between the town’s “two most powerful boards,” working or not, would fail to be televised. Seems weird.

But, Gary, your authority is so noted,

Jenna

Dear Gary, Ryan, and Steve,

Will tomorrow’s open (un-televised) meeting be recorded or not?

TIA,

Dear Mark,

I know that the joint meeting will not be “televised,” but will LCTV be recording tomorrow evening’s meeting for folks to watch after the fact?

Thanks,

Jenna

I emailed Steve and Ryan and Gary at 7:30 this morning and didn’t hear back from any of them.

Weird.

Anyhow, thanks again,

A text exchange from yesterday afternoon with a Littletonian. My replies are in italics:

Why is a review of the SB Code of Conduct on the agenda?

Yes, I know

Bizarre

Unless they’re hoping to include something about publishing unflattering facts about people being a violation of said policy.

I don’t see any other reason why it would be on the agenda.

Holy shit

That’s super fascist

That’s why they don’t want it recorded

Maybe
