You’ve been on the Select Board since 2015 and have been consistently observed as having a particular interest in those Select Board matters that involve money.
With respect to cannabis coming to Littleton, you’ve been both ubiquitous and, according to many, flagrantly self-serving.
And yet, so far as I can tell, no one’s held you accountable.
I’m not surprised.
You wore a hat with a homophobic slur into town hall while on town business in the presence of other town officials, and, in the end, experienced no adverse outcome either then or since I pointed it out two weeks ago.
This proves two things:
- You—as a SWG w/PIM (straight white guy with power, influence, and money)—do whatever you want without concern of consequence, because
- The rest of us (those who aren’t SWG w/ PIM) know who’s in charge, and thereby, we are forced to stand back and watch you (and other SWGs w/PIM) move through the world with smiling impunity.
Just last night, someone asked me, “How does Chuck get to stay on the board after that hat?”
You know what I said, Chuck?
“Because no one seems to care,” which is really another way of saying, “Chuck Decoste can do whatever he wants as an elected public official in the Town of Littleton.”
When you and I met five months ago and I shared my radical idea to abolish poverty in town, I believed that I was meeting with someone who—given your vocal support of “the people of Littleton”—would be interested in helping the poorest people of 01460.
However, in the last five months, I’ve concluded that the “people of Littleton” who you are truly interested in helping are the people who ensure that you, Chuck, are handsomely rewarded for your help and targeted advocacy—people like David Giannetta and Jason Sidman.
Back in August, I thought there were only two Kings of Cannabis in town.
Now I know there have been three all along.
So, in recognition of the holiday season and presuming you know the tune, here’s a song I wrote for you. It’s a parody of WE THREE KINGS, which I deeply hope becomes a super annoying earworm for you and yours:
We three kings of cannabis are
Making bank, it’s gone great so far
Yields of profits
Ignore conflicts
Acting above the law
Oh
Out for sushi
On a yacht
Tens of millions
All from pot
We’ll keep scheming
Bro tag-teaming
Hide the cash and don’t get caught
TTYS,
Jkb
