The Other Person CC’ed in that “Good Cause” Email

In the email thread (click HERE) between Littleton’s Town Planner and Lawson & Weitzen Attorney Glenn P. Frank from November 3, 2023, three people were cc’ed:

Quinn Heath, Tyler O’Hazo, and Justin Smith.

While “Justin Smith” is a popular name, I had a clue: a potential business name from the cc’ed email, i.e., “packitupsupply@gmail.com.”

The search engine Open Corporates found a Massachusetts corporate record for “Pack It Up, Inc.”—with a Littleton address.

Wait!

What?

Pack It Up, Inc.’s Business Entity Summary (click HERE) from the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Corporate Data Base shows Pack It Up, Inc. as having a primary place of business in Littleton. Pack It Up, Inc.’s records are kept in Littleton. And Pack It Up, Inc.’s Resident Agent, President, Clerk, Secretary, and Director are all listed as Justin Smith at 41 Matawanakee Trail, Littleton, MA 01460 USA.

A local guy for sure.

Weird that Atty. Frank would mention Masood Shaikh’s “significant connections to the Littleton community”—which is, paradoxically, both a vacuous and questionable assertion—when Justin Smith, who Atty. Frank looped into this email thread, lives right here in Littleton. (I checked: 41 Matawanakee Trail is a house.)

Now, there are lots of Justin Smiths in the world, and lots listed in the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Corporate database. Some Justin Smiths list addresses, some don’t. I poked around for a while and after connecting some dots discovered that this Littleton Justin Smith was also part of a business venture in town back when that business was first getting started.

On December 7, 2018, Justin Smith filed Articles of Organization for a corporation, using 41 Matawanakee Trail for the corporation’s primary place of business and where the corporate records would be kept.

The document goes on to list Justin Smith as the Resident Agent, again, using 41 Matawanakee Trail. Justin Smith is listed as the corporation’s President, Secretary, and Director—and, named in the corporate filing as the corporation’s Treasurer and (ancillary?) Director is David Giannetta. Justin Smith and David Giannetta “EACH OWNS [sic] 50 PERCENT” of the corporation.

The name of the corporation?

Community Care Collective, Inc.—aka, Littleton’s only up-and-running recreational cannabis shop.

Now, if you go to Community Care Collective, Inc.’s Business Entity Summary today, you won’t find Justin Smith. But Justin Smith was there at the start—back in late 2018 when he was a one-half owner of a business that recently sold nearly $5,000,000,00 of cannabis over four recent quarters.

Three people were cc’ed on that Littleton Apothecary “Good Cause” email.

Quinn, Tyler, and Justin.

Two and a half months ago, Atty. Frank—ostensibly representing Masood Shaikh’s individual (i.e., not MRM’s, because MRM was never mentioned) interests before Littleton’s Planning Board—cc’ed David Giannetta’s former Community Care Collective, Inc. business partner on an email where Atty Frank was requesting an extension of the Special Permit that Matthew’s wife had for Littleton Apothecary—aka, Littleton’s non-operational recreational cannabis shop?

What’s going on here, Littleton?

Stay tuned,

Jenna
